We are looking for a ROCKSTAR to be our Project Administrative Assistant. This position won't be your ordinary Administrative Assistant role, this will be a fast-paced position where you will be learning about grant writing, project tracking, business plan development, and many other related skills. If you are an exceptional communicator, have excellent writing skills, are organized, flexible and a problem solver then you could be a great addition to our department.
AVEC is a member-driven generation and distribution utility serving residents in 59 locations throughout Alaska with its headquarters in Anchorage, AK. The communities that Alaska Village Electric Cooperative serves receive power via small, isolated grids that utilize diesel generation and renewable sources.
As the Project Administrative Assistant, you will provide support to all essential functions of the Project Development and Key Accounts staff in a dynamic setting where priorities can change quickly which requires flexibility and the ability to respond accordingly. You will facilitate department functions and maintain project files, community files, and village agreements, leases, and additional contracts designed to expedite project organizational missions and goals. The Project Administrative Assistant will be a huge asset that will enable the Grant Accountant, Community Liaison, Project Manager, and Department Manager to perform effectively by lifting administrative burden in support of their positions.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Management, Communications, or related discipline and 3 to 5 years of experience of similar complexity.
- 4 years of directly related administrative experience in a similarly complex work environment, with at least 2 years of review or planning projects can be substituted for degree requirement.
- Experience with ensuring chain of custody and compliance with complex projects.
Rewards:
We offer a comprehensive pay and benefit package. Highlights include starting pay expected between $29.48 and $34.60 per hour. 401K Plan with Employer Match and Retirement Pension Plan (Defined Benefit, Employer paid pension). Paid leave (PTO) starting at 21 days per year and up to 6 weeks maximum. We also offer 8 paid Holidays plus 2 Floating Holidays and a Birthday Holiday.
