Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:
OCP Contractors is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing and recording payables transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies - 1099 preparation, submittal of 1096 reports to IRS, Year-end reporting - ERP system entry and routing
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies as needed
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues with vendors and internal departments
- Maintain accurate and organized Accounts Payable files and documentation
- Vendor credit applications, Answer AP related communications
- Provide support for audit requests and participate in internal and external audit processes - Administrative duties may be required with this position
- Stay up-to-date on Accounts Payable best practices and industry trends
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred or
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable principles and best practices
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy - General knowledge and use of ERP system
- Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to resolve conflict
- Ability to work independently and be part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, in addition to being results oriented and self-motivated
