Accounting Specialist

Overall Goal of Position: This position is responsible for ensuring all accounting functions at the plant level and as requested by corporate office are in support of the business, and helps to make OurRecipe@SauerBrands:
Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist performs basic accounting/coding and office duties in support of the Plant Controller and other accounting personnel. Typical duties listed below, but other duties relating to accounting/reconciling/reporting may be assigned. Position reports to the Plant Controller.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• General Operations
• Performs all duties safely, models and follows all safety guidelines
• Checks/opens/distributes office mail
• Prints invoices from email (for select vendors)
• Matches invoices with Purchase Order “receivers” and other documentation as backup
• Works with Procurement and/or department managers to reconcile discrepancies between invoices/receivers
• Matches invoice deductions or credits as necessary
• Scans payables to corporate accounting department for processing
• Answers vendor inquiries regarding payments
• Receives and scans employee expense reports to corporate accounting department
• Prints any/all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files
• Prepares reconciliation of vendor accounts, as requested
• Assist Plant Controller and Plant Manager with accounting tasks/reports as requested

• Participates on other teams as requested
• Supports plant management in all actions and programs necessary for maintaining the desired company culture

• Education & Experience:
• High School diploma minimum with 2-3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience or Accounting/Business/Finance/Economics degree.
• Office management/support experience preferred
• Intermediate to advanced level experience using most common office machines (copier, fax, printer, multi-line phone, etc)
• Experience with MS Office 365 helpful
• Experience using Medius is a plus
• Experience using PeopleSoft is a plus
