Our manufacturing client in the Modesto market has an immediate need for an Accounting and Payroll Specialist for a potential contract to hire role.
The position will be working on-site Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
PAYROLL:
- Perform daily payroll operations with precision.
- Accurately process bi-weekly payroll, including issuing paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
- Verify attendance and hours worked for accuracy daily before processing payroll.
- Process wage garnishments, pay levies, and other court-ordered payments in a timely manner.
- Confirm proper recording of employee payroll change information from HR-provided change forms.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee queries promptly.
- Maintain payroll operations in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure confidentiality of payroll operations.
- Process and issue W-2 forms to employees.
ACCOUNTING:
- Conduct data entry to set up new customers in the ERP system following company procedures.
- Maintain organized customer files and update necessary documentation in the ERP system.
- Daily processing of prepaid credit card sales.
- Provide backup support to Accounts Receivable, Billing, and collection through customer EDI Billing and collection calls.
- Support Accounts Receivable collection by supplying subsequent billing copies for collection.
- Validate account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from relevant departments and customers.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in conveying accurate information, effective listening, and seeking clarification when needed.
- Perform other general office duties and accounting functions as assigned by the Controller.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in payroll and accounting functions.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
