Accounting Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of financial concepts, is proficient in accounting software, and has experience with double entry bookkeeping.

Duties:

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial transactions

- Prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions

- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues

- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling subsidiary accounts

- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

- Manage payroll processes and ensure accurate calculations

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities

- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits

- Provide support for tax preparation and filing

Skills:

- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage and Xero

- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles

- Experience with bank reconciliation and account analysis

- Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping

- Excellent 10-key typing skills for data entry accuracy

- Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately

- Knowledge of public accounting practices is a plus
