Summary of Essential Duties:
- Assists parents of newborns with completing information worksheets.
- Verifies all information is accurate and answer parents' questions about how to obtain birth certificates and other documents.
- Follows up with Nursing staff for missing information.
- Responds to record requests from Attorneys and court orders.
- Demonstrates superior patient interviewing skills. Interacts with patients and performs job duties with sensitivity and attention to the patient population(s) being served.
- Demonstrates collection skills. Able to determine and explain patient financial obligation and collect funds when appropriate.
The schedule for this position will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 8:00am – 4:40pm with Wednesday and Sunday off.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience working in Patient Access or Revenue Cycle department, physician office, healthcare insurance company, and/or other revenue cycle related roles required
- Experience with Birth Records preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
