Job Title: Accountant / QuickBooks Specialist Part-time (10-15 hours)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant/QuickBooks Specialist to join our finance department. As an Accountant/QuickBooks Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial record-keeping process, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and analytical skills, be proficient in QuickBooks, and have a strong background in accounting principles and practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the financial record-keeping process by accurately entering financial data into QuickBooks and reconciling accounts.
2. Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices, tracking payments, and managing vendor and customer accounts.
3. Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
4. Perform routine financial analysis and forecasts to identify trends, variances, and potential issues, and make recommendations for improvement.
5. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, helping to set financial targets and track performance against them.
6. Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
7. Assist in the preparation of tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
8. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information and support for decision-making processes.
9. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and guidelines, ensuring compliance and making recommendations for process improvements when applicable.
10. Train and support staff members in using QuickBooks and following proper accounting procedures.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA qualification preferred).
2. Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, QuickBooks knowledge is a MUST.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial software.
6. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
8. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Knowledge of tax regulations and guidelines.
11. Availability to occasionally work outside regular business hours, especially during tax season.
