This position manages and coordinates academic personnel administration under the oversight of the Academic Personnel Manager, including academic personnel non-faculty administration, recruitment, appointment, extensions, leave, visa, medical staff and professional billing process administrations for the departments of Orthopaedic surgery and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in Academic Personnel Administration.
- Experience in purchasing.
- Experience providing faculty administrative support.
- Experience and skill to compose accurate and succinct correspondence using excellent grammar.
- Experience and skill in using computerized communication/information systems i.e. LANs, WAN, E-mail
- Skill to listen to complex instructions and analyze need, determine action, execute and follow up with a high degree of independence.
- Skill to read and comprehend/interpret written material i.e. correspondence, instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Skill to take initiative to analyze need, problem-solve, determine appropriate course of action, and implement follow up procedures in a competent manner, within scope of authority.
- Skill to work independently to administer/coordinate complex academic/patient care activities.
- Skill to communicate in a proactive, positive, effective, courteous, cooperative and diplomatic manner, using excellent interpersonal skills, either verbally or in writing, to professional members of the department, academic, medical, or general communities
- Exhibit a high degree of accuracy and attention to details
- Skill at working in a high-pressure environment with demanding personnel with flexible and adapt to change
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage and meet multiple/conflicting deadlines; maintain complex files in such a manner to ensure ready access of information.
- Knowledge and/or skill to learn basic of medical terminology.
- Knowledge and skill to use basic mathematics in accounting responsibilities.
- Working knowledge but not limited to Microsoft Excel (linking files, basic formulas, filtering, formatting), Word (formatting, template utilization) and PowerPoint; online travel/purchasing and financial systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the UC Davis Academic personnel and credentialing.
- Knowledge of the University Policies and Procedures (APP and PPM).
- Knowledge of J1 and H1-b visas.
- Knowledge of AggieExpense, AggieBuy, AggieShip, AggieService, KFS, MIV, APHID and iGlobal.
