Job description

Under general direction of the Staff Services Manager I, in the Department of State Hospitals, Classification and Pay Unit, the Associate Personnel Analyst (APA) performs the more responsible, varied and complex consultative APA assignments. This includes providing timely and appropriate personnel management consultation and technical assistance to department managers, supervisors, hospital personnel staff and departmental employees. The APA can act as a lead person for other staff personnel.
Willing to consider an Associate Governmental Program Analyst or Staff Services Analyst. Duties will reflect the appropriate position candidate is hired into.

Working Conditions

  • DSH-Sacramento is located at a new 11 floor high rise building.
  • This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, which includes up to 3 days of remote work per week but is subject to change based on Department guidelines and business needs. Incumbent may travel throughout California as needed, with prior notice.

The mission of the Department of State Hospitals is to provide evaluation and treatment in a safe and responsible manner, seeking innovation and excellence in hospital operations, across a continuum of care and settings.
DSH-Sacramento moved into a new modern, sustainable and innovative office building located at 1215 "O" Street, Sacramento, California. Some of the amenities of the new building include the following:
  • First-floor retail space (separate access from 12th Street)
  • Café with multiple vendors available to the public
  • Outdoor seating with pedestrian walkways
  • Large, shared conference room on the first floor with a maximum capacity of 162 individuals
