POSITION TITLE: Youth Services Support Staff
Full-time and Part-time positions available
RESPONSIBLE TO: Youth Services Drop-In Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: The Youth Services Support Staff is a part-time, non-exempt position that supports Youth Outreach Drop-In Center activities. The Drop-In Center is a place for at-risk youth to access services. Services include recreational activities, skill-building groups, job/career development, academic support, leadership opportunities, shelter, supply distribution (food, clothes, hygiene products) and other services for at-risk youth, with a special emphasis on runaway/homeless youth. This position will be responsible for interaction with and supervision of youth age 11-21 at the Youth Outreach Drop-In Center. This position will assist with planning of programs for at risk youth who frequent the Center. The Youth Services Support Staff may also be asked to support street outreach, intakes, and service provision. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 2pm to 8pm - 27.50 hours per week (part-time) at Youth Outreach McMinnville.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Create a positive team atmosphere providing quality service to clients, staff and volunteers through active listening, positive problem solving, and timely responses.
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised place for youth age 11-21 to participate in and access services.
- Interact with and supervise youth who participate in Youth Outreach Drop-In Center activities.
- Work with staff to monitor youth behavior, enforce behavioral expectations, and utilize appropriate discipline measures, as necessary.
- Assist with planning and implementation of age-appropriate youth programs including recreational activities, skill-building groups, and youth-friendly events.
- Support street and school outreach efforts and activities as part of an outreach team.
- As needed, support Case Managers administer case management assessments, intakes, and service provision.
- Provide and demonstrate positive role modeling.
- Maintain accurate and timely record keeping and shift log.
- Daily facility maintenance (putting away supplies, sanitization, setting up space for appropriate use) and cleaning.
- Drive to and from locations for outreach, and transport youth to and from school, appointments, or other essential needs.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Some college studies or work experience with youth preferred.
- Ability to readily connect with at-risk youth.
- An understanding of at-risk youth issues.
- Self-motivated individual with outgoing personality.
- An understanding of cross-cultural issues and complex gender issues.
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds (including but not limited to, ethnic, religious, physical and mental abilities, etc.).
- Ability to work effectively in stressful or crisis situations.
- Recognition of appropriate boundaries and the ability to implement them.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to work as part of a team.
- Ability to professionally communicate with community partners, parents and the public.
- Willingness to receive on-the-job training in a wide variety of Runaway and Homeless Youth issues.
- Demonstrated commitment to being a “team player” in helping YCAP and Youth Outreach fulfill its mission.
- Ability to meet insurance requirements and pass driving, drug, and background screens.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to sit, stand, kneel, walk or bend for periods of time. May lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
