Summary/Purpose
Set-Up grinders to meet customer demand, while ensuring the parts meet the customer's required specifications.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
- Maintain and continuously develop a 5s system that addresses safety, housekeeping, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain and fully support Autonomous PM systems. Responsibilities must be completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Use Process Prints and Operation Sheets to set up grinders, to ensure parts are being produced to customer specifications.
- Set up hoppers to obtain good pin feed through grinders.
- Set up and operate gauges to measure parts, ensuring parts are being produced to customer specifications.
- Set and operate the wheel trace machine.
- Remove and install sorter boards.
- Set and verify masters, set up auto controllers, set inline gages and diverters.
- Must be able to predetermine what parts size that will be going on machines from Now Next board and preset blade setup.
- Fill out set up log/verification.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to ensure tolerances are being held.
- Clean out and load hopper on the changeover. Clean out inside of machine and bed at the changeover.
- Operate machines as necessary based on staffing to meet customer demand in a timely manner.

Job Knowledge, Skills ,and Abilities:
- Must demonstrate good mechanical aptitude. (Assessment Given)
- Must be disciplined to follow Standard Work Practices.
- Must be able to read and interpret process prints.
- Must have good math skills dealing with decimals and fractions.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Must be multi-tasked to handle multiple diverse tasks accurately and completely.
- Must be a self-starter that can work with minimal supervision.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and/or will be subject to being called in at odd hours when needed.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience with Grinding is preferred.
- Previous mechanical experience is preferred.

- Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area.
- This position has exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution, and controls, compressed air systems, various types of lubricants, chemical and wash baths, mechanical machine operation, etc.
- Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
- This position requires regular lifting of work up to 50 pounds, and push or pulling work up to 125 pounds with proper equipment.
