The Workforce Services Manager works closely with the Director assisting employers with the creation, planning and executing of on-campus/virtual interviews and job fairs on all campuses. The position refers student resumes to employers, qualifies and prepares students for on-campus/virtual interviews, conducts career readiness presentations and tracks employment. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.
This is a temporary grant funded position through June 30 year 2024 contingent upon grantor funding and grant extensions.
This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Attends, networks with employers at events/online to create jobs and internship opportunities and talent pipelines for employers
- Works closely with Director to create, plan and execute Job Fairs at 8 campuses and online
- Creates, plans and executes Employer Information Sessions online and on-campus at all 8 campuses
- Guides students in preparing resumes and refers resumes to employers for jobs and internships
- Facilitates career readiness workshops and plans “Career Readiness Week” of events prior to job fairs
- Creates, plans and executes on-campus and virtual interviews
- Conducts mock interviews to prepare students for employer interviews
- Works collaboratively with Director, Dean’s, Faculty and Advising and Workforce Services team members to promote events to students
- Tracks and records job placement information
- Assists Director with creating social media campaigns and employer sponsorship opportunities
- Supervises, mentors and provides direction, for the events’ team at Job Fairs
- Analyzes student data and matches them to programs offered through community partners
- Prepares budgetary recommendations and monitors, verifies, and reconciles expenditure of budgeted funds for MDC WORKS
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in career coaching, resume assistance and job placement; or Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field and six (6) years of directly related experience
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in planning and executing large scale events
- Minimum two (2) years of experience launching social media campaigns
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in supporting employer sponsorships initiatives
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge in Business and Employer development to secure sponsorship
- Working knowledge in creating, launching and executing social media campaigns and strategy
- Knowledge in working with employers to create talent pipeline processes and procedures
- Ability to plan, organize, and facilitate a range of special events
- Possess excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, excellent problem solving skills, ability to initiate, grow and develop professional relationships
- Ability to correctly match employers with qualified students for job and internships opportunities
- Ability to correctly coach students to perform well during interviews
- Ability to correctly work with team members at all campuses to execute large scale events
- Ability to be persuasive and strategic in building talent pipelines
- Ability to travel between campuses and maintain flexible hours to allow for evening and weekend work
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff
