Under direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) uses their expertise in various HR processes within the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Workday and other systems to deliver outstanding user support, and enhance user experience, satisfaction, and overall productivity. As a Subject Matter Expert, the AGPA develops tools and training aimed at supporting DOJ employees in using Workday. They ensure all departmental employees understand their roles and responsibilities, and have the resources needed for successful operation of HR systems.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • Experience with Workday or similar Human Resources Management System (HRMS).
  • Experience providing support to customers on complex issues.
  • Experience developing user support and training resources, and providing training.
  • Knowledge of the state's HR rules/policies, especially regarding time and attendance.
  • Strong communication skills.

The Department of Justice, Office of Human Resources is located in the heart of vibrant downtown Sacramento, within easy walking distance of many restaurants and Caesar Chavez Park. The Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility list will be used as an appropriate for the Associate Personnel Analyst classification. Candidates who would like to be appointed as an Associate Personnel Analyst must meet the minimum qualifications for the Associate Personnel Analyst classification in addition to having Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility.
