Description:
We are looking for Wireless Network (WLAN) Administrator who must be well versed in network architectures and components. The WLAN Administrator will work with Network Engineers, IT Specialists, and others to plan, implement, configure, troubleshoot, produce reports, provide analysis of data, administer the WLAN components and network systems and provide any necessary training. The WLAN Administrator must be able to work with very little supervision in a highly dynamic and innovative work environment.
Required qualifications:
- At least 5 years total network management experience operating, maintaining, and updating a WLAN network to ensure they are kept up to date to ensure proper operations are maintained. This includes adding or deleting sites and or network devices, making configuration changes, upgrading Operating Systems, at a minimum.
- At least 5 years of engineering level network support that includes specific knowledge of:
- CISCO and/or Aruba wireless infrastructure. Skills and experience in both are a big plus.
- Access point/authentication, and device management technologies and processes
- Experience using the Microsoft office suite of tools.
Desirable qualifications:
- Demonstrate that security policies/GSP/IRM mandates were met/implemented correctly on network devices, best practices were implemented, new technologies deployed to meet customer needs, software levels were maintained, and global configurations were managed and updated.
- At least 5 years' experience with supporting a large-scale government network.
- Experience with the ITIL V3 IT Lifecycle Management Framework.

Education, Degrees, Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical subject. Experience may be substituted for degree.
- At least one of the following appropriate certificates must be active.
- An Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or higher.
- An Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Voice certification or higher.
- An Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data certification or higher.
- An Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Wireless certification or higher.
- ITIL v3 Certifications.
- Any CISCO or Aruba WLAN Certifications.
Security requirements:
- Candidate must have the ability to obtain an IRS Moderate risk MBI clearance. A current active IRS MBI clearance or having held one within the past 2 years is preferred. If the candidate has no IRS MBI, a prior public trust or higher-level clearance at another federal agency is highly preferred. Work may not begin until the MBI clearance is received.
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for at least three (3) years, and Federal Tax compliant.
Place of Performance: No more than 50% of the time will be Telework. The other 50% will require the candidate to report to the New Carrollton, MD location for 8-hour shifts.
Work Hours: Coverage is Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 12:00 am (midnight), Eastern Time. A specific 8.5-hour day shift (30-minute lunch) can be requested and will be agreed upon as long as support requirements allow. If a shift is not requested or cannot be agreed upon, one will be assigned. Assigned shift hours will be worked on a regular basis. Any after-hours support that is required will be counted towards the 40-hour work week. The amount of after-hours work and the work performed is to be reported to the Program/Project Manager either in advance, if known, or at the conclusion of the work.
