THE ROLE: Senior Network Engineer, Wireless

Job Summary:

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will perform project-based engineering, installation and troubleshooting of wireless/data networks while working with customers and an engineering teams to successfully implement wireless/data network solutions. Additionally, you will be assisting clients through planning and implementation of wireless/data communications networks.

Travel Requirements:

In this role you will be expected to travel up to 30%. It will be based in Florida.

Job Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibilities include performing project-based engineering, installation and troubleshooting of wireless/data networks
• Working with customers and an engineering team to successfully implement wireless/data network solutions
• LAN routing and switching configuration and deployment in large to very large environments
• Wireless pre-installation survey, configuration and deployment in large to very large environments
• Assist clients through planning and implementation of wireless/data communications networks
• Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance

Required Skills:

• Expert-level knowledge and experience with implementation and support of the following:
  • Cisco wireless networks (Aruba is a plus)
  • Demonstrate expert understanding of 802.11 protocols
  • Expert knowledge of open and licensed spectrum used in wireless networks
  • Wireless survey tools (Ekahau preferred; AirMagnet okay)
    • Thorough understanding of the wireless survey process
    • Knowledge of predictive and physical survey techniques
  • Understanding of basic L2/L3 protocols, including: STP, PAgP, EIGRP, OSPF
  • Ability to design and support high-density, wireless voice, and high-bandwidth wireless networks

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
• Over all 5+ years of experience in networking engineering, including configuring, analyzing & troubleshooting wireless/data networks
• CCNP Preferred
