Wireless Network Administrator
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Wireless Network Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Wireless Network infrastructure, ensuring that it is secure, reliable, and meets the organization's needs. You will work closely with other IT team members and business stakeholders to ensure that the network infrastructure meets the organization's security, reliability, and performance needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Wireless Networks, including access points, controllers, and supporting infrastructure
- Perform wireless surveys to identify coverage areas, signal strength, and interference.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Wireless Network issues, including performance, connectivity, and security problems
- Collaborate with other IT team members and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize Wireless Network requirements
- Develop and maintain Wireless Network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and security policies
- Conduct capacity planning and analysis to forecast future Wireless Network traffic, bandwidth, and infrastructure needs. Monitor network usage and growth patterns. Develop short and long-term plans to scale infrastructure ahead of business demands while minimizing network disruptions
- Stay up-to-date with Wireless Network technologies and industry trends and recommend new solutions to improve network performance and security
- Provide technical support to end-users for Wireless Network issues
- Develop budgetary recommendations for Wireless Network expansion and upgrades
- Assist with network security tasks, such as vulnerability scanning and patch management
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
- Travel to different locations to perform wireless surveys
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Wireless Network infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience
- Good understanding of Wireless Networking protocols, including 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax
- Basic knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including routing switching and security
- Experience with Wireless Network security, including WPA2, 802.1X, and RADIUS
- Knowledge of network monitoring and analysis tools, such as Wireshark and NetFlow
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Availability to travel to different locations to perform wireless surveys
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Experience from IT onsite support or field technician role is a plus.
- Certifications at the associate level, such as CWNA and CCNA, are preferred
