The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Outbound and Transportation Department. This includes all operational activities related to order fulfillment, shipping, loading, quality, inventory control, safety, and security. The Warehouse Manager develops, recommends, implements, and manages plans and strategies to achieve the Company’s and the Distribution Center’s goals, strategic initiatives, and financial objectives and to ensure customer expectations are met in collaboration with other Company leaders, departments, and employees
Essential Functions:
- Develop, meet, and exceed Company goals and objectives for order accuracy, order fulfillment rates, productivity levels, safety, and other areas
- Provide operational guidance in planning, organizing, and prioritizing daily work, scheduling, and staffing needs in order to meet productivity, performance, quality and other operational goals
- Research, make recommendations and plan and implement changes to schedules, staffing, methods, procedures, and policies in order to improve operational efficiencies while minimizing errors and damage, maintaining service levels and managing costs
- Provide dynamic leadership and partner with Human Resources to build, coach, develop, manage, and evaluate high performance teams capable of meeting operational, performance, service and other objectives and initiatives
- Enhance morale through mentoring, counseling, and building a strong teamwork ethic
- Track, review and analyze performance including productivity, quality, service, safety, and corresponding metrics (KPIs) and objectives and ensure the accuracy and integrity of records, reports, and numbers in order to establish expectations, monitor and optimize performance and ensure an efficient and cost-effective operation
- Build and sustain cross-functional relationships and participate collaboratively on cross-functional teams to address customer service, operations, logistics, expenses, inventory, facilities, and maintenance
- Provide a safe work environment for employees and ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety-related regulations and all Company safety programs
- Resolve problems and issues related to customers, employees, and others in accordance with Company policies and procedures and under the direction of the manager
- Maintain and protect the Company’s facility, equipment, inventory, and other assets. rEstablish and maintain processes and controls to minimize inventory loss and take action to address shortages and damaged or obsolete inventory
- Keep supervisor informed of all matters of significance and takes appropriate corrective action or suggests alternative courses of action
- Perform additional duties as requested by the Sr. Operations Manager
