Warehouse Manager

The Manager of the Warehouse oversees and maintains all warehouse operations including order pulling, receiving, shipping and material handling; ensuring each group is working in a safe and efficient manner. The primary responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager include ensuring daily productivity goals are met, transactions in the system are performed accurately, operational procedures are enforced, and the status of each area is communicated with other departmental leadership. The Warehouse Manager is also responsible for maintaining safety standards and monitoring the efficiency of all warehouse employees.

Key Duties

• Maintain warehouse staff by determining headcount requirements, staff selection, onboarding/training requirements, and disciplinary documents. Develop training documentation and training program for warehouse staff
• Develop and maintain procedures for receiving, storing, and distribution processes of all stock types, such as Kanban, reorder point, make/buy to stock, and order for order. Develop and maintain warehouse processes to ensure FIFO and related traceability.
• Manage warehouse to ensure utilization of space and material flow is efficient for the facility; manage and monitor maintenance of storage and holding areas to ensure product is secure and properly identified; manage and maintain accurate location listings and communicate to staff.
• Understand and implement scheduling system and reports to manage operational processes.
• Develop and maintain audit reports of warehouse staff and their work areas related to safety and housekeep.
• Maintain inventory control and accuracy by developing cycle counts process and schedule, highlighting discrepancy resolution and system updates. Report significant dollar inventory variances and identify root cause and corrective actions for discrepancies.
• Launch continuous improvement initiatives in the warehouse and interdepartmental processes.
• Manage and communicate contingency plans for workflow changes as necessary.
• Develop and draft annual budget forecast.

Key Responsibilities

• Must enforce and empower others to maintain a total commitment to safety.
• Ensure the warehouse and shelves are clean, organized and well maintained.
• Ensure job orders are pulled accurately and on time.
• Ensure parts are received accurately, quickly, and efficiently.
• Ensure ERP transactions are performed in real-time with the highest degree of accuracy.
• Assist and discipline employees in the Warehouse.
• Report status of warehouse operations to managers of each department when needed.
• Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policy.

Key Qualifications

Required Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration (10 years of managerial experience in lieu of a degree).
• Forklift Certification required
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisor or manager experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of warehouse experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of ERP experience.
• Experience with Kanban system.

Preferred Prerequisites

• Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
• CWLP preferred

Required Knowledge/Skills

• An in-depth understanding of the basic procedures/processes involved with running a warehouse.
• An extensive knowledge of warehousing especially in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with working in or supervising order pulling, shipping and receiving.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills is imperative.
• Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Word Outlook.
• Intermediate skill in using ERP software preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills to effectively coordinate multiple jobs, tasks, and assignments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
