Vice President of Environmental Healthand Safety position overview and responsibilities:
We are searching for a Vice President of Environmental Healthand Safety (EHS) who will lead and provide the strategic direction for risk reduction, injury prevention, and environmental regulatory compliance initiatives and will be accountable for driving the overall Company environmental and Safety cultural for National Beef. The Vice President will partner with the Operations Leadership Team to assess the effectiveness of the environmental and Safety policies/protocol efforts and further design and implements strategies for continuous improvement. This individual will collaborate across the organization, for ensuring accident-free work environments protecting employees, and caring for the environment, while creating value for the customer. The Vice President is a key stakeholder in supporting the corporate safety culture and work with other key leaders on sustainability strategy This is a highly visible, transformational role with a focus on leading change, influencing, communicating, and coordinating while interacting with key stakeholders, customers, and employees to lead EHS improvement.
This is a corporate role leading our Safety professionals across all of our eight (8) manufacturing/further processing facilities. This position will be based in the corporate office, in Kansas City, Missouri reporting to the Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Administration.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the professional development of our EHS leaders and their departments and raise the effectiveness of EHS performance of plant management teams
- Set company performance standards for safety and Environmental Health
- Develop and implement long-term strategies to prevent losses to people, property, and the environment
- Represent the organization as a liaison with internal and external interested parties and government agencies (OSHA, EPA etc.)
This is a safety sensitive position. This is not a remote position.
Qualified candidates for the Vice President of Environmental Healthand Safety position should possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related degrees
Certification Program such as CSP, CSHM, IOSH, CPU, and/or CHMM
15 + years of applied progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated professional expertise and accomplishments leading EHS change initiatives, with multi-plant responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to formulate EHS strategy and gain buy-in from executive management
- Proven leadership experience developing and implementing EHS policies and procedures
- Protein Industry Experience
