This position is part of the Decision Management team. The team’s mission is to use data and technology to optimize the bank’s product development, product management, and marketing efforts to new and existing customers. We do this by using descriptive and predictive analytics projects such as hypothesis testing, logistic and linear regression, and segmentation efforts to mine internal and external data sources.
About the role
The Vice President of Decision Management Analysis and Modeling will manage a team of analysts and lead analytical efforts across our product and marketing functions, conducting hypothesis tests, delivering analytical insights to grow the business, and developing custom tools and models leveraging best practices in model development and advanced data science skills.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Lead team in working with key business partners in Product and Marketing teams on analytics projects to fully explore and frame business questions including objectives, goals, KPIs, decisions the analysis will support and prioritization of projects
- Simplify and communicate analyses and recommendations to a non-technical audience
- Anticipate issues based on knowledge of business trends and proposes direction and solutions
- Leverage analytics and modeling best practices in leading Marketing Mix Model evaluation, optimization, and implementation
- Lead model development and implementation lifecycle for product optimization tools and models, including developing and maintaining model governance standards
- Interact with senior management and business owners and collaborate across departments
- Serve as an expert consultant to senior management on highly complex issues
- Lead and develop team to ensure accuracy and quality of their deliverables, managing partner expectations, and professional growth
- Translate the work/projects done by the Decision Management Analysis and Modeling team to bottom line impact
- Graduate degree in quantitative area such as mathematics, economics, engineering, computer science with equivalent industry experience
- 8+ years of experience in data science and technology management, predictive analytics, model governance and implementation; preferably within the financial services industry
- 5+ years of experience managing and mentoring a team of analytical professionals across varying levels of skill and experience
- Hands-on experience with SAS and database query languages (e.g., SQL)
- Strong working knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques, including regression analysis and Machine Learning algorithms for pattern recognition and predictive analytics such as random forest and gradient boosting
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the flexibility, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, highly complex environment
- Proven experience managing and delivering a wide variety of analytic solutions to stakeholders
- Solid planning, priority setting, and project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and resources concurrently
