As a Vice President - Information Security Management within the Cybersecurity Technology Controls Organization, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, and mitigating compliance and operational risks in line with the firm's standards. You will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise and technical guidance to technology-aligned process owners, ensuring that implemented controls are operating effectively and in compliance with regulatory, legal, and industry standards. By partnering with various stakeholders, including Product Owners, Business Control Managers, and Regulators, you will contribute to the reporting of a comprehensive view of technology risk posture and its impact on the business. Your advanced knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and theories will enable you to drive innovative solutions and effectively manage a diverse team in a dynamic and evolving risk landscape.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong business and technology relationships, becoming a trusted partner with key groups including LOB technologists, assessments teams, and data officers, enabling cross-functional collaboration and progress toward shared goals
- Execute reporting and governance of overall controls, policies, issue management, and measurements, etc., communicating with senior management to provide insight into effectiveness of controls and inform governance work
- Proactively monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance the firm's risk posture and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Ensure technology risk impacting the business is effectively identified, quantified, communicated, and managed, including recommendations for resolution and identifying the root cause/key themes.
- Interface with technology and application development teams on an on-going basis for business-as-usual risk activities, reporting, and project initiatives.
- Leverage threat intelligence and threat modelling solutions to guide early control gap detection and enable proactive responses.
- Serve as subject matter expert for IT Risk and Cyber domains, including vulnerability management, data protection, outsourcing (IT and Cloud) and application security
- Evaluate regulatory changes relating to cybersecurity and technology impacting the legal entity
- Create and present management packs in steering committees and governance forums
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on technology risks, controls concepts and 5+ years applied experience or equivalent expertise in Information Security, or a related field, with a focus on managing risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks, industry standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to the financial industry
- Proficient knowledge and experience in data security, risk assessment & reporting, and control evaluation, design and governance, with a track record of implementing effective risk mitigation strategies
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level strategic decision-making and effectively translating technology insights to business strategy in communications with senior executives
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
CISM, CRISC, CISSP, or other industry-recognized risk and risk certifications preferred
