Reporting to the SVP, Operational Excellence, the VP of Continuous Improvement will build and sustaining the CI roadmap identifying and prioritizing critical business improvement needs, developing and monitoring key performance indicators, deploying CI tools and techniques to improve operational performance, building CI capability in all levels of the Organization, and supporting culture change initiatives.
This individual will work closely with all cross functional department leadership to enable process, technology and organizational effectiveness. They will provide CI subject matter expertise, leadership, and support Continuous Improvement in the areas of Loss Analysis, Daily Management System (DMS) deployment, DMAIC structured problem solving, change management and activities required to develop and sustain a zero loss and Continuous Improvement culture.
With the strongest foundation being our People, the CI strategy will lean heavily in engaging, enabling and empowering all levels of the organization to understand and eliminate operational loss through structured problem solving. They will build a culture of servant leadership paired with relentless pursuit of operational excellence to drive sustained and continuous performance improvement.
This role is based out of Mundelein, IL with up to 50% travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and support a CI culture, identifying opportunities to teach and utilize CI tools and principles to improve safety, quality, service and cost while driving 100% employee engagement
- Develop and execute the Continuous Improvement long range plan inclusive of strategy definition, project identification, resource allocation and technology innovation
- Responsible for the Medline Operations training organization. Build training content against SOPs, develop engaging learning experiences and train all hourly team members in their job tasks, as well as provide technical training for front line leadership to lead their areas effectively.
- In partnership with Engineering, develop a process simplification and optimization roadmap. Ensure the operational adherence to established processes through the development and deployment of training content and leader standard work for operations and support functions.
- Build and deploy CI capability building plans and educate, coach and mentor executive, senior and front line leadership, directly or through the CI Organization, in Continuous Improvement principles and application.
- Establish and deploy a standard operating system and standard routines at all levels (from executive leadership to front line leaders) based on goal alignment and cascading objectives and measures.
- Establish and facilitate an operating cadence for reviewing both local and network wide improvement initiatives and evaluating their improvement and financial impact.
- Responsible for completing a comprehensive loss analysis, collecting, consolidating and interpreting data, and articulating concise conclusions for Executive Leadership to define a multi-year improvement plan for the business.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business or related field.
Relevant Work Experience
- 15+ years' experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations
- 10+ years working in Lean Six Sigma or TPM Organizations in a CI capacity
- 5+ years leading Continuous Improvement strategy and deployment with multi-site level scope
Certification / Licensure
- Lean Six Sigma or TPM certification
