Summary/Objective:
Responsible for opening and closing of security vault, supervise and direct teller activities, assist in the work flow of the platform area, responsible for training the Retail Staff on the use of the core System.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for opening and closing of security vault.
- Oversee and supervise to ensure smooth retail banking operations on daily basis.
- Responsible for opening and closing retail branch premise following branch opening and closing procedures.
- Supervise and direct teller activities.
- Supervise tellers ensuring compliance with bank operating policies and individual cash limits: monitor and ensure for proper and efficient operation and delegate work assignments.
- Handle customer complaints and problems between customers and tellers and/or refer to appropriate level of management following channel of command.
- Monitor and ensure that vault and cash under dual control adhering to security and operations procedures at all times.
- Assist tellers in researching and correcting daily cash proof when differences occur.
- Cash count – daily and monthly physical count.
- Review/Handle Daily Mandatory Reports: Non-Sufficient /OD/Kiting/Large Items. etc.
- Review and resolve any overdraft, non-sufficient fund, non-post items on the core daily.
- Review and prepare inactive and dormant account reports.
- Review/Approve all works and transactions done by tellers to ensure the tellers’ work is properly processed.
- Review and resolve red-flagged suspected transactions/activities on fraud detection system on daily basis.
- Review/Approve Currency Transaction Report.
- Review/Approve Maintenance Reports, such as New Accounts, stop payments, change of addresses, change terms of CD etc. at customer’s requests.
- Review and approve customer's wire transfer applications.
- Handle customer inquires.
- Responsible for training the Retail staff on the use of the FOVA System.
- Cross sell bank products and services including but not limited to residential mortgage, commercial mortgage, insurance, trade finance, etc. to various department.
- Review all BSA reports as required.
- Responsible to observe, inspect and report to Operations for any branch premise facilities-related deficiency.
- Comply with all applicable provisions of the law and regulation regarding Bank Secrecy Act, i.e., large currency transactions filing, know your customers policy, suspicious transactions and monetary instrument log recording.
- Comply fully with all banking regulations, such as Regulation CC, D, DD, etc.
- Observe all security/internal controls and protect the facility against criminal or fraudulent operations.
- Research and respond to information levies & legal papers.
- Comply with the Bank’s Policies and Procedures.
- Prepare various financial reports as required by management.
- Record management – Manage and safe keep all the branch customer and transaction record as required by the record retention schedule.
- Follow bank policy/procedure including compliance, BSA/AML, retail operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall operation and profitability of the branch.

Supervisory Responsibility:
- Supervise all retail branch staff including teller and platform staff (Banking Service Specialist)
- Assign jobs to respective staff and manpower arrangement to ensure the routine daily operations are smooth.

Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop, and cell phone. Most work is completed in an office environment. Walking around the office and talking to employees and supervisors is required.
Travel Requirements:
Some travel is required upon request.
Required Education and Experience:
Three year college certification or technical school, or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language/Communication Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer, clients and other employees of the organization. Chinese/English bilingual preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of Database software and Word Processing software.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
