Queen's North Hawaii Community Hospital is a 35-bed rural acute care hospital located in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawaii Island. More than 300 employees and over a dozen employed physicians staff the main hospital, as well the outpatient clinics located in the Lucy Henriques Medical Center, at our Primary Care Clinic located near Longs Drugs, and at our Specialty Clinic located in the Parker Ranch Center.

Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepares and performs ultrasound examinations on patients. Collaborates with physicians on examinations.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: walking, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; reaching above and at shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods; frequent gripping of an object.
• Continuous: sitting, reaching below shoulder level.
• Frequent: standing, stooping/bending, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of force.
• Occasional: sitting, kneeling, climbing stairs, squatting, lifting and carrying weight of 10 pounds up to 20 pounds.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Must be able to adjust schedule for "on-call" coverage involving, but not limited to, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• May be subjected to stressful situations when dealing with multiple and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved school of Ultrasound Technology or other approved program as determined by the department; or registered Radiologic Technologist with two (2) years supervised work/training in diagnostic ultrasound.
• Registered or registry candidate by ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) in Abdomen and OB/GYN sonography.
• Registered by ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) preferred.
• Current BLS/HCP certification.
EXPERIENCE:
• Prior recent experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Echo Ultrasound Technologist in acute health care facility preferred.
• Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems and make decisions.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team.
