Engages in and must successfully complete a 2 year comprehensive management training program. Performs general business operations on a rotational basis to develop and apply expertise under the general supervision of the General Manager (GM). Upon successful completion of the management, training programing the General Manager in-training may assume a GM position responsible for the complete operational management of Seven Feathers Truck & Travel Center (TNT).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maximizes profits and customer services by leading and operating the store in adherence with all company policy and guidelines.
Operates the store as the Manager On-Duty in conjunction with the management team.
Plans, organizes, and directs activities under the direction of the GM.
Ensures highest level of customer service and handles customer complaints to a satisfactory conclusion.
Maintains category merchandising and cleanliness and ensures operational efficiency and product flow within the store under the direction of the GM.
Trains and develops team members and facilitates cross training for further development.
Coaches, trains, and develops management staff under the direction of the GM.
Facilitates effective communication to all team members through daily huddles and weekly and monthly meetings.
Assists the Station Manager in creating store schedules to provide adequate coverage for all aspects of the store.
Consults with the GM on team member performance.
Assists the GM in enhancing the store's reputation by establishing and maintaining good community relations and partnerships.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to meet the following objectives at the completion of the management-training program:
Establish current and long-range strategy goals, objectives, plans and policies.
Prepare annual budget forecasts by analyzing and estimating past and future costs.
Oversee all financials, review operating results to ensure established objectives are being met and report to management on a monthly basis.
Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments and applicable laws.
Expand business by increasing strategic partnerships with individuals or companies in select markets.
Plan and direct all negotiations, business ventures and the purchase or sale of major assets with the approval of the UIDC Board of Directors.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent, college degree in a business related field preferred.
2-3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, grocery or other service industry with responsibility for financial results.
Previous management proficiency in high volume with P&L accountability
Supervisory management and profit & loss experience required.
Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint as well as database software.
Strong organization skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Mathematical/analytical skills essential.
Ability to work on the store's busiest days including most weekends and holidays.
Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and nights.
Current and valid Driver's License, with the ability to qualify for the UIDC's Drivers Program.
