Job Description:


The Assistant Vice President of Admissions and Financial Aid serves as American International College's (AIC) senior admissions officer for both undergraduate and graduate programs overseeing all admissions efforts and the Office of Financial Aid. Reporting to the Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management and Retention, the AVP serves as a senior leader in the enrollment management division. This newly created position is responsible for the overall vision and strategy for recruitment, first-time enrollment, and Financial Aid. The AVP oversees the integrated daily operations of undergraduate admissions, graduate admissions, and Financial Aid to drive enrollment and net tuition revenue growth. The AVP serves as the direct supervisor of the senior associate directors of undergraduate admissions recruitment, graduate admissions recruitment, the joint admissions data analytics and operations team; and the Director of Financial Aid.
The leader assuming this role will have responsibilities in three key areas: admissions and Financial Aid, planning and external partner collaboration, and leadership and administration to drive enrollment and net tuition revenue growth.



JOB DESCRIPTION:
Admissions and Financial Aid:
- Responsible for the strategic development and execution of recruitment, admissions, yield, and marketing for AIC academic programs which includes undergraduate and graduate campus-based and partner-driven programs, both on-campus and on-line.
- Oversight and overall management of existing external enrollment partnership agreements. Development and launch of new opportunities to expand strategic recruitment efforts for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Oversees the Office of Financial Aid in its use of restricted and unrestricted resources to award scholarships to attract strong candidates and support students with assistance by development, finance, and Financial Aid staff.
- Executes a communications strategy, in collaboration with the Office of Marketing and Communications, to support key branding efforts of AIC and specific admissions goals.
- Ensures effective and professional communications with prospective applicants, applicants, admitted students, families, high school, and community college guidance teams.
- Serves as a senior member of the AIC Enrollment Management team to ensure a positive experience for incoming students.


- Develops a network of professional contacts at high schools, community colleges, potential feeder colleges to enhance and expand student recruitment.
- Responsible for enhancing international recruitment efforts working in collaboration with relevant institutional leadership and partners. May maintain a pre-determined international travel schedule.



Planning and External Partner Collaboration:
- Formulates admission standards and enrollment targets and conducts enrollment planning and analysis with senior institutional leadership.
- Coordinates the internal and external partner driven enrollment and marketing plans to produce strong and diverse applicant pools with greater yields.
- Analyzes the cost and benefits of marketing strategies, recruitment programs, and admission events with input and support by the admissions team.
- In coordination with AIC's Department of Finance, Institutional Research, and external enrollment partners, produces predictive modeling reports and provides simulations to inform enrollment goals and yields with a drive to increase NTR.
- Ensures the provision of robust Financial Aid counseling to students.



Leadership and Administration:
- Inspires, supports, and grows professional staff.
- Drives and oversees the infusion of a data-driven orientation to the daily execution of the operations and as the foundation for on-going strategy development.
- Drives and oversees the strategic application of client management (CRM) software, including performing data analytics to help implement admissions strategies.
- Implements best business practices for managing admissions data.
- Prepares weekly enrollment report for Sr. Leadership.
- Communicates and implements annual recruitment strategy with the larger campus community.
- Manages admissions departmental budgets (to include oversight and approval of travel policies, recruiting travel budget and expenses).
- Develops new sources for identifying future students.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.




Requirements:



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate degree.
- Minimum of seven years' progressive experience in college admissions. Ideally, ten years' experience in admissions.
- At least four years supervising mid-management level admissions with evidence of classes meeting goal.
- Deep understanding of the role and intricacies of leveraging Financial Aid to meet enrollment and revenue goals.
- Experience utilizing scholarship or other soft funds to incentivize prospective students to enroll.
- Proven experience yielding academically ready students who represent the diversity of our region and nation and achieving desired net tuition revenue set by college leadership.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division I and Division II recruitment practices and policies.
- Demonstrated success in relationship building and customer service.
- Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and program development.
- Exceptional communication skills, including effective writing, public speaking, presentation, and persuasive competencies.
- The ability to travel locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally is required.
- Experience in leading and developing staff.
- Record of accomplishment of innovative and creative solutions to the issues facing an admission department.
