McGuire Wood & Bissette, P.A. has an immediate opening for two Legal Assistants to join its Trusts, Estates, and Elder Law Practice Group. One position will provide assistance for trust and estate administration matters, including assisting individuals who serve as Executor, Trustee, and other fiduciary roles. The other position will provide assistance for matters including contested fiduciary litigation, trust modifications, beneficiary representation, and Medicaid applications. Ideal candidates will have prior legal experience in these areas of law, but all interested applicants are encouraged to apply. A good attitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a dedication to client service, proofreading skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, multi-tasking talent and ability to work under pressure are required. Competitive compensation DOE with occasional overtime, and excellent benefits package.
Duties:
- Communicate with potential clients and assist with the client intake process, including conflict of interest checks and file opening.
- Manage incoming written correspondence from clients.
- Schedule meetings with potential clients and existing clients.
- Maintain an organized to do list.
- Communicate with relevant attorneys to assist with client work as needed.
Experience:
- Perform general clerical duties such as answering phone calls and filing documents.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
