In accordance with the Agreement between the Detroit Federation of Teachers (DFT) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Position Summary:
The Training and Support Coordinator will be responsible for providing STEM Enrichment support and training for teachers on implementing the curriculum in alignment with the Vision of Excellent Instruction and the STEM Enrichment Enhancement strategy. They will also be responsible for designing and delivering district-wide professional development and support teachers and school-based staff with analyzing and acting upon student data from formative and summative standards-aligned assessments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree, preferred
- A valid Michigan teaching certificate in Elementary or Secondary Education
- A minimum of 5 years teaching a STEM subject or working in comparable area
- Experience with principles of adult learning and how to apply them to professional development
- Experience providing STEM curriculum and program application support to teachers
- Strong working knowledge of STEM Enrichment programs

- Strong understanding of STEM education principles and best practices

Security Clearance:
Internal Applicants
