Training & Safety Coordinator
70% Training + 30% Safety
This role is ideal for a person who is highly motivated, able to multitask, lead others, and follow through with action plans. The Training & Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing unique training courses and programs for JBar Enterprises and its employees as well as developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and procedures to promote a culture of safety. This role focuses on minimizing workplace accidents, injuries, and incidents while ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards. Duties include but are not limited to, determining training needs (working with department leaders for guidance), evaluating existing data to determine effectiveness, and incorporating necessary training programs into company standard operating procedures.

Essential Duties
- Gather and evaluate information from Employees and Management on previous training to identify weaknesses and areas that need additional training.
- Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques and use the knowledge to prepare and coordinate future training sessions.
- Develop and maintain training manuals for J-Bar, utilizing Industry best practices and historical data.
- Recruit and train new Trainers internally, delegate training tasks to the new Trainers and evaluate performance.
- Create training schedules for all company Departments, track and create reports on outcomes of all training and maintain training records for J-Bar Enterprises.
- Ensure and enforce compliance with various Local, State and Federal (O.S.H.A.) standards.
- Provide training, health and safety information to Employees.
- Train New Hires on company policies and procedures and use the best training methods for specific audiences.
- Market company training opportunities to Employees and provide information on benefits to encourage participation – broadcast scheduled training opportunities to Employees and track their progress.
- Recommend training materials and methods, order in-house training equipment and facilities and manage the budget set for training.
- Ensure policies and procedures are applicable and are properly enforced.
- Responsible for the training and coaching of Employees at the request of Management.
- Complete special projects as requested by the Human Resources Specialist.
- Report weekly Key Performance Indicators (K.P.I.’s) as directed by Management.
- Provide education and clarity of OSHA and Texas Safety related regulatory guidance.
- Conduct regular job hazard assessments (JHAs) and risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits of job sites, equipment, and facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Promote a culture of safety through regular communication, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and safety awareness campaigns.

Licenses
- A valid Class C driver’s license with a good driving record (Required)
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred
Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two years related experience and / or training as a Training Officer or Coordinator
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry best practices
- Experience in safety program development, training, and risk assessment
Skills
- Advanced Interpersonal skills

- Advanced organizational skills
- Geographical knowledge of service area and/or efficiency in using available mapping software
- Knowledge of industry Computer skills: email, spreadsheet, word processing
- High level communication skills, both written and oral
- Proficiency in computer applications for safety reporting and documentation
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
