Summary/Objective:

Cohen Industrial Supply is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Safety Coordinator. As the Safety Coordinator, you will be working with the Operation Manager to create and implement safety policies and procedures that ensure a safe work environment for all employees. This is a full-time, individual contributor role located in Houston, Texas.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Identify and implement safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and work processes
• Investigate and report on all workplace accidents and incidents and make recommendations for preventative measures
• Conduct safety training for employees and ensure all training records are up to date
• Maintain and update safety manuals and documentation to reflect current regulations and best practices
• Collaborate with management and departments to ensure a culture of safety and implement continuous improvement strategies
• Stay informed on industry standards and changes in regulations to ensure compliance
• Manage and maintain safety equipment and supplies
• Prepare and submit required reports for internal and external compliance purposes
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and present safety policies and procedures in a clear and concise manner
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a Safety Coordinator or related role
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
