Job Description
Do you have an early childhood background, instructional design experience, and strong leadership qualities? Well, this position with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services may be just what you are looking for! Our Training and Professional Development Specialist will be an integral member of the Utah Home Visiting Program team, and will lead the program's Training and Professional Development workstream to improve recruitment, onboarding, and retention of staff in contracted programs. This team member will also be relied upon to provide technical assistance, support, and monitoring of home visiting sites throughout the State of Utah.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
  • Develop and execute a multi-year Training and Professional Development plan using instructional design solutions for local program staff.
  • Design and manage the program's newsletter, resource library, and other educational materials.
  • Oversee and monitor a portfolio of grant agreements for local home visiting programs to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Assist with grant reporting, which may entail qualitative or quantitative data, or drafting reports for federal and state funding.
  • Collaborate with other early childhood agencies and service providers to further workforce development goals and objectives.
  • Further the program's Results Based Accountability and other strategic initiatives and goals.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

  • Experience with evidence-based home visiting programs, particularly Parents as Teachers, Nurse-Family Partnership, or Family Spirit
  • Experience with early childhood direct service work
  • Experience implementing federal grants, including ensuring compliance with grant requirements
  • Experience in data analysis and development of reports through Microsoft Excel or similar programs
