The City of Auburn is looking for hardworking, team players to assist our Parks Department in maintaining our cemetery. We have several Temporary Maintenance positions open and would love to have you join our team!
This is a great opportunity to make connections and learn more about the City of Auburn's full-time, benefited opportunities to start your career with Team Auburn! Temporary employees who perform successfully in these roles have the opportunity to be placed on an eligibility list for future permanent, full-time, benefit eligible positions in a Maintenance Worker I classification. Successful temporary workers will be given priority for these positions and will be scheduled for additional interviews and/or skills testing.
Temporary positions are available 20-40 hours per week for up to 5 1/2 months.
Some positions start immediately. However, hiring may continue through the Spring and Summer months, depending upon the needs of each division.
Primary Duties
CEMETERY: Duties may include mowing and weeding; collecting litter and maintaining facilities.
Employees will perform other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid Washington State Driver's License, and have the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
SHOE REQUIREMENT: Steel-toed shoes required on first day of employment- furnished by the employee.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Positions require heavy manual labor in all weather conditions. Occasionally required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Visit job sites that require walking on uneven, rocky, or rough ground. Perform physical activity including but not limited to lifting, carrying and moving heavy objects; repeated walking, bending and stooping for long periods of time. May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Employee is required to maintain professional composure and tact, patience and courtesy at all times.
