The Network Administrator's role is to ensure the stable operation of the computer network and server infrastructure. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.
Network Administrator Job Description
- Setup, configuration, and administration/maintenance of LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN hardware and software (firewalls, routers, switches, access points, wiring racks).
- Administration of telco systems inventory (Avaya IP Office, SIP and VoIP endpoints) and perform all add/move/change events and configurations related to these systems.
- Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting network connectivity issues, setting up new network devices, and resolving security-related issues.
- Monitor, evaluate and maximize network operation metrics to ensure optimal performance.
- Install, configure and maintain both on-premise and Azure Active Directory environments including user, group policy and role management.
- Maintain on-premise Windows Server, including patch and security management
- Administer Google Workspace environment
- Administer Single Sign On (SSO) environment
- Develop and maintain documentation related to network infrastructure, policies, and procedures. This includes creating network diagrams, maintaining an inventory of network hardware and software, and keeping network-related policies up to date.
- Provide training as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of networking troubleshooting or technical experience
- Knowledge of complex networks
- The ability to manage, control and monitor server infrastructures
- Knowledge of and experience with Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Certifications and Training
- Associate Degree in Computer Technology or related field
- Juniper/Mist training, Cisco CCNA, and/or Network + is/are preferred
