In this role, the Network Administrator will ensure the stability and integrity of voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs, SDWAN) across the organization. In addition, the Network Administrator will participate with the design, installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, server infrastructure, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and server related software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.
This position requires a hybrid work schedule and is based out of our Atlanta Corporate office.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Planning

• Collaborate with executive management and department leaders to assess near and long-term network capacity needs and emerging technologies.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network design, configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and associated training plans for network administration, usage, redundancy, and disaster recovery.

Acquisition & Deployment

• Design, deploy and maintain firm LANs, WANs, SDWAN, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, UPSs and other hardware.
• Interact with vendors and contractors to secure network products and services.
• Conduct research on network products, services, protocols and standards to remain aware of developments in the networking industry.

Operational Management

• Assist System Administrators with server management, including e-mail, print and back-up servers and their associated operating systems and software. Assist with server management including e-mail, print and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.
• Work with Security Team to maintain security solutions including firewall, anti-virus and intrusion detection systems.
• Manage network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches and backup power systems.
• Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.
• Maintain network asset management including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
• Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions and access rights.
• Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades and repairs.
• Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
• Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines and other network appliances.
• Perform server and security audits and system backups and recovery.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Information Systems or similar and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
• CCNA, CCNP or other network certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation.
• Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles and general network management best practices.
• Strong hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows desktops and servers.
• Strong understanding of layer 2 & 3 network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, VLANs and Trunking, tagging) required.
• Strong knowledge of DNS & DHCP
• Strong understanding of application layer routing
• Excellent knowledge of VOIP systems and prioritizing real time traffic
• Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards.
• Excellent hardware troubleshooting
• Competence with network diagnostic tools and procedures.
• Excellent application support experience.

WORK CONDITIONS

• On-call availability
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to handle other computer components.
• Occasional inspection of cables in floor and ceilings.
• Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers, networking hardware and peripherals.
