They will collaborate with all key stakeholders, including Product Management, Product Owner, Software Engineers, QA Engineers and Customer Support in order to plan for and solicit feedback on a variety of documentation-related projects.
- Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organization standards
- Gain deep understanding of products and translate complex information into simple and polished content
- Creates and maintains online help and installation guides for software product releases
- Creates and maintains graphical images and diagrams that explain the products
- Works with Product Manager to define the screens and reports, ensuring flows are correct and labels and help text is clear and concise
- Selects appropriate medium for message or audience and creates different types of user documentation (how-to guides, quick references, online help, release summaries, product summaries, etc.)
- Ensures project schedule milestones and quality standards are met
- Develop and maintain detailed database of reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications
- Standardize content across all platforms and media
- Gather user feedback from customers and other stakeholders
- Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with Software Engineers
- Responsible for creating and maintaining online help and installation guides for software product releases
- Gather information from subject matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
- Proactively work with Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Customer facing team to ensure that changes to the product are assessed and documented adequately
- Work with engineering and customer support to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage
- Apply principles of single sourcing
- Creates and maintains online help and installation guides for software product releases
- Create and maintain information architecture template at that adhere to organizational standards
- Coordinate the localization of software and documentation
- Localized text back into source code and help files
- 2-5 years relevant experience
- Very strong English skills: excellent writing, editing, and communication
- Technical writing certificate or degree in a relevant discipline
- Experience with (technical writing software- e.g. Madcap Flare)
- Experience using (e.g. TFS), a source management tool
- Extensive knowledge of document preparation standards (including software documentation standards) and delivery mechanisms (e.g. online and web help, PDFs, HTML)
- Excellent analytical and document design skills
- Strong organizational and coordinating abilities
- Ability to work independently and effectively under a tight deadline and in cooperation with an international group of contributors toward key deliverable
