The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and editing written documentation necessary to support customer use of Mobility products. The Technical Writer will assist the department in the accomplishment of the team's goals while maintaining company information in a confidential manner.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in English / Communications (or a related discipline)
• 5-7 years of technical writing experience
• Familiarity working in engineering environments
• Desktop publishing
Basic Skill Requirements:
• Expert in English writing with emphasis on grammar and clarity
• Easily interprets engineering drawings and bills of materials
• Proficiency in working with digital graphics
• Effortlessly communicates with subject matter experts
• Writes clear and concise instructions
• Interprets and organizes technical information and data
• Utilizes track changes in the editing and review process
• Easily manages pressing tasks and deadlines
Software:
• Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro)
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook), Visio
• AutoCAD a plus
Other requirements:
• Experienced in creating large documents (e.g. operation and product manuals)
• Experience developing and utilizing high-quality graphics, flowcharts, and other digital visuals for use in desktop publishing
• Strong organizational skills and adherence to deadlines (both independently and within a team)
• Ability to coordinate inputs from multiple individuals
• Engineering or manufacturing background preferred
