Technical Writer

Hybrid schedule in Pittsburgh, PA.
Long term contract opportunity for a Technical Writer. Looking for someone with a technical degree and industry background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science. Prior experience in rail transportation, telecommunications, HVAC or military preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather technical information and insights.
• Create clear, concise, and accurate operation and maintenance manuals.
• Develop training materials, including instructor and student guides.
• Create engaging and informative PowerPoint presentations for training purposes.
• Organize and maintain documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility.
• Review and edit existing technical documentation for accuracy and clarity.
• Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and regulations.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to improve documentation quality.
• Adapt documentation to various audiences, from technical experts to non-technical users.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Previous experience as a Technical Writer in rail transportation, telecommunications, HVAC, or military sectors is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Proficiency in using documentation and presentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of a graphics tool such as Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
