- Our Infrastructure team is responsible for day to day installation of servers and network equipment, structured cabling, project work and capacity management.
- This technician will also be involved with the installation of structured cabling, management of infrastructure inventory levels, and physical installation of network and server racks and/or devices.
- You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
- You will launch cutting edge server technologies and solve diverse networking impairments.
- You will quickly and accurately assess a wide range of infrastructure issues, which requires a good understanding of computers, servers, switches and various networking devices from both a hardware and software perspective and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology.
- To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations.
- In addition, you must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
- You will be able to leverage your experience exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.
- Partner with cable vendors to install, inspect and troubleshoot cabling
- Installation and maintenance of copper and fiber cable infrastructure
- Install, test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords
- Ensure that the Data Center and vendor installations comply with all installation practices
- Report current status via ticketing system, status reports, email and slack
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centers
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanliness
- Work with a partner to move integrated enterprise equipment from loading docks into planned positions
- Manage, check and coordinate all materials to be delivered to site daily
- Carry a cell phone for communication, information, and emergencies
- Up to 50% travel within geographical work area may be required; some travel outside traditional work area may be requested

- Work safely at heights and from ladders
- Ability to work on your feet conducting site walks and installation tasks for the entirety of an 8-hour shift.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41 pounds or more
- Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in after-hours support as needed
Daily Schedule:
- The contractor will receive racks in the morning (between 7am-10am).
- Cable laying will occur in the afternoon.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 6 months+ of cabling experience
