Summary:

The IS Technical Specialist provides technical and consultative support on the most complex technical matters. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, designs, and develops systems based upon user specifications. 
  • Provides technical assistance in solving hardware or software problems. 
  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of and works with the technical tools available for systems development and support.
  • Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington. 
  • May assist with identifying training needs or with training of less experienced staff. 
  • May serve as project leader for specific projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5+ years experience maintaining and updating the Hogan Umbrella and PAS System software
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of related experience or an additional 4 years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Office experience 
  • Experience working in multi-platform environment
  • Ability to balance both development and support roles
  • Experience in working on projects that involve business segments
  • Strong analytical, strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, focus on customer service, and the ability to work well with other IT, vendor, and business groups

The Hogan Umbrella/PAS experience assumes working knowledge and hands-on experience with the following:

ASSEMBLY language and Hogan use of MACROS related to the maintenance of UMB/PAS programs as well as custom programs being utilized by Umbrella.  Item includes the creation and management of the Boot module and composite modules CICSPEM and BATCHPEM. Hogan Umbrella security interface (P49037) for FPS and PSI security calling RACF Hogan Migration System components used to migrate Hogan development components from one environment to another.  Hogan RCS utilities used to support the Hogam migration process as well as perform other environmental support functions. Hogan CDMF utilities used to support the applications (dump/restore, etc) Hogan DB2 extract/bind process Hogan GTF Tabling and Tuning Command level CICS and transaction processing in MRO and PLEX CICS configurations. VSAM file processing and concepts for RLS and SMS manages files to allow for extended availability. Hogan UMBPLEX environment options and concepts to allow for a PLEXED region implementation. Familiarity with CHGMAN or equivalent source management system and integrating Hogan release control functions into these systems. Process for implementing Vendor Application upgrades Interacting with Operating System or Technical Support resources to manage the environmental change that impacts the Hogan UMB architecture. Performance reporting and analysis for the Hogan applications. This would include the collection and analysis of data and subsequent tuning efforts.  Building and managing multiple testing environments

Candidate should possess the following skills and character traits:

Strong Problem diagnosis and resolution skills which include the use of tools such as EXPEDITER, KORE, Abend-Aid Strong Communication skills to enable effective interaction with application resources and technical services Strong Analysis and Design skills that result in the creation of configurable solutions that are easy to install and maintain. Self-starter with the ability to take direction and work independently while also working in a team environment.

Compensation Range:

$90,000-$130,000 Annual Salary

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
