Physical Requirements:Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 10 lbs; long periods of sitting; extended periods of exposure to CPU.
Shift:Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, occasional nights and weekends per departmental need.
Job Summary:The Northern Kentucky Campus Medical Education Academic Advisor will provide targeted advising support to medical students via scheduled and walk-in meetings, email, and phone communications for the purposes of academic success, retention, and graduation; provide individual and group assistance to students preparing for standardized certification and course exams, addressing study skills, organization, time management, study planning, and test taking; work closely with students, course directors, and curriculum staff to monitor student performance, identify opportunities for intervention and coaching specific to each cohort’s coursework and licensing exam expectations, and develop targeted strategies to be delivered through a variety of media (e.g. workshops, class meetings, newsletters, website); utilize a system to track utilization of peer coaches and tutors to be used at all UK College of Medicine campuses; and train and mentor coaches and tutors; organize events and initiatives to support and align with milestones during pre-clinical and clinical years.
