Working Conditions
- The Technical Supervisor is responsible for maintaining portions of the Pharmacy Module, Willow, of Epic and the Omnicell system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with Epic Analysts, Patient Financial Services, Central Supply, Pharmacy Leadership, and Pharmacy Buyer in maintaining the Pharmacy Module within Epic.
- Monitors Pharmacy billing within Epic and investigates any concerns to ensure proper billing of medications.
- Manages the Omnicell system to include, but not limited to cabinet maintenance, Item maintenance, User maintenance, discrepancy and override monitoring and resolution, Controlled Substance monitory for diversion, database maintenance, training, coordination of work with third party Omnicell vendors, etc.
- Participates and /or contributes to Pharmacy and hospital improvement activities.
- Completes all annual mandatory education required by facility.
- Functions as Pharmacy Technician on occasion and complies with those Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
Job Qualifications
- Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Work Experience
- Three years of hospital pharmacy experience required.
- Certification/License
- Pharmacy Technician License with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of employment.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) completed within first 1 year of employment.
- Pharmacy Technician License with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of employment.
Mental/Physical Requirements
- Considerable mental concentration required completing duties. Requires prolonged times of sitting with frequent walking, standing, bending and stooping.Light lifting (25lbs) required. Ability to perform fine manipulation of small vials, syringes, and needles is required.
Working Conditions
- Most of workday spent in Pharmacy or Office space having standard air-conditioned environment. Possible exposure to considerable refrigerator/freezer, pharmacy automation, printer, telephone, and IV room noise. Possible exposure to differing pressure barriers when working in the IV rooms as well as strong smelling chemicals used in cleaning IV rooms.
