The Asset Protection (AP) Operations Center (APOC) Team Lead supports the Manager and supervises a team of AP Operation Center Investigators that are responsible for protecting Nordstrom people, assets, and profitability across all stores throughout the organization. Possesses a strong work ethic that upholds the values and goals of Nordstrom by performing their job to the best of their ability. This position is on-site within the Asset ProtectionOperations Center in downtown Seattle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees an APOC team that operates coactively within a 24/7 operation and supports the APOC Manager, ensuring that all members are properly trained, motivated, and equipped to perform their duties effectively. This includes overseeing performance targets as well as providing guidance and feedback to team members.
- Lead and support a team of APOC Investigators that monitor alarm systems, communicate with customers, providers and emergency responders regarding occurrences from security alarm systems, when the Manager is off.
- Monitor critical incidents and events in real-time and coordinates proper and effective response to emergency situations including in-progress acts of violence, crisis, and any other incidents posing hazard to lives and property. Utilizes appropriate escalation approaches, following established procedures and best practices
- Execute daily communication to Nordstrom leadership team, getting the necessary information to key stakeholders in a concise, detailed, and digestible manner.
- Coordinates APOC team support for Internal and External Investigators with investigations into security incidents, including camera review and documentation.
- Respond immediately and independently to coordinate resources needed to effectively support, manage, and implement disaster response activities in small and/or large, unique, or catastrophic incidents.
- Oversee and manage security incidents including reviewing and saving CCTV video and completion of appropriate written documentation for dissemination to Nordstrom leadership.
- Manage and assist the APOC team during remote oversight, monitoring, and coordination of real time incidents, to mitigate and/or prevent further loss or damage.
- Advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summoning emergency responders to the scene, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures as needed
- Support projects that leverage the physical security infrastructures
- Work closely and coordinate with the on-site Emergency Response Manager at various locations, to monitor a variety of intelligence gathering systems to sense potential security risks
- Identify opportunities to improve overall safety; help develop and audit practices of APOC team; identify discrepancies and address opportunities for improvement
- Develop and support operational plans that coordinate resources needed to effectively manage and implement response to planned or unplanned internal or external events and activities that have a potential to impact business operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical background in security systems and foundational knowledge of security principles
- Proven success in investigations, Asset Protection and security procedures.
- The ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with other departments, employees, leaders, and outside resources.
- Strong organizational, communication, delegation and follow-through skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment on a regular basis
- A strong understanding of Stanley (Securitas) Alarm System, Victor Client, APIS and XBR (preferred)
- Basic computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Visio).
- Ability to navigate a multitude of computer programs and systems to interpret evolving situation(s), sometimes at multiple locations, and make sound decisions surrounding response to situations and issues.
- Good situational awareness and ability to adapt to changing environments/needs
- Ability to multi-task and address a multitude of competing priorities across multiple physical locations
- Ability to maintain a calm presence in the face of issues, disasters, trauma, etc. in support of your team and to drive the necessary support to ensure the best outcome for the issue(s) and/or incident(s) under your watch.

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $55,500 - $89,000 Annually
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
