Assistant Program Administrator- Social Work Office of Research & Public Service (SWORPS)

Regular Full time, Exempt position - Market Range 10

 

The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Social Work, through the Social Work Office of Research and Public Service (SWORPS) is accepting applications for Assistant Program Administrator for the Child Care Resource and Referral Unit. As a member of SWORPS' Field Based Services, this position works in collaboration with the Program Coordinator and peers to provide subject matter expertise and oversee the day-to-day management of the Upper East team however will also assist meeting the program goals and criteria of the Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) grant funded program, establish program procedure, and ensure contract compliance (scope of services). This position will be housed in the upper East region for the Child Care Resource and Referral Unit.

Supervision and Leadership:

·       Assist with management of CCR&R Quality Coaches and Speciality Coaches who work within the 21 county region of the sponsor agency's network.

·       Supervise the Upper East team with planning and directing work, evaluating performance, addressing issues and resolving problems with programs in their caseload.

·       Provide leadership and guidance to staff in keeping with the program's mission and goals, provide individual counseling and guidance to staff in meeting their goals.

·       Monitor work prepared by staff for accuracy, completeness and timeliness.

·       Assist with planning and facilitating scheduled team meetings and development sessions as well as partner meetings.

Program Coordination and Outreach::

·       Assist with planning and coordinating quarterly meetings with TDHS Partners to promote consistent services to child care agencies and families.

·       Assist in developing, administering, and monitoring program budget and expenditures seeking effective ways to provide services.

·       Assist with facilitating regular meetings with different community agencies to educate and review program services.

·       Maintain positive relationships with TDHS, particularly Child Care Licensing to ensure consistency and cooperation.

·       Participate in community collaborative efforts and coalitions, providing leadership as necessary.

·       Serve as a back up to quality coaches during absences and when coverage is needed

Program Monitoring/Reporting:

·       Assist with quality assurance oversight to ensure all data collection requirements and forms are complete and accurate and make corrections when necessary

·       Analyze records and data to monitor goal attainment and program progress

·       Gather information from all staff, compile reports and narratives to submit to funder that captures impacts with families and community agencies

·       Participate in and attend community agency meetings to provide awareness of services

·       Monitor referrals from funder and adjust program caseloads of quality coaches to ensure quality program delivery and changing needs of child care

·       agencies as well as families in the 21 county region serving over 800 + child care programs

·       Review program services and outreach services to ensure the highest level of quality and


Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:  

Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of experience in direct service and management working with children (birth – twelve) including at least one year in a leadership position OR a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field.

Requires a vehicle at their disposal, a valid driver’s license and a current automobile liability policy with continuous coverage.  Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.  Must be able to occasionally work evenings, weekends and overnight as well as travel within the State.
