Position Summary
The Talent AcquisitionSourcing Specialist will support the sourcing, attracting, and interviewing of prospective employees for NYSTRS that align with organizational needs and initiatives. Additionally, the incumbent will service hiring managers and search committees through the full recruitment life cycle in partnership with HR staff. This position will work closely with department management, HR management, and the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) team to successfully execute both short and long-term recruitment priorities and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor-s degree and 2 years of relevant professional experience
An associate degree and five years of relevant professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
MA degree in Human Resources and Organizational Psychology, or a similar relevant field; will substitute one year of professional work experience.
Experience and/or knowledge of the NYS Civil Service Systems
Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various interview techniques and evaluations
Excellent understanding of recruitment processes and candidate selection methods
Hands-on experience with application tracking systems like Clear Company, Workday, Handshake, etc.
Experience with program development, coordination, implementation and assessment
Demonstrated ability to network and establish professional relationships with internal and external customers
Outstanding organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload and adjust accordingly
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service experience
Impeccable written, verbal, and presentation skills, with sharp attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Creative thinker and proactive problem solver
Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and the ability to learn quickly
Job Duties
Coordinate and meet with hiring managers to identify qualifications and selection criteria.
Support the Sourcing Lead with the interview process including the training and selection of search committee members, attending interviews, and guiding the candidate experience for recruitment as a participant and NYSTRS ambassador
Source potential candidates through online channels (e.g. social platforms and professional networks)
Provide general information on NYSTRS benefits and company culture to prospective candidates
Manage respective candidate pools to ensure qualified candidates remain engaged in current or future opportunities
Plan interview and selection procedures, including screening calls, assessments, and in-person interviews
Review candidate information, including resumes and contact details, using our Application Tracking System to assist with sourcing efforts
Assist and coordinate employer branding initiatives alongside the Talent Acquisition Sourcing Lead and Recruitment Marketing Specialist that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion hiring goals
Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events and serve as a secondary liaison for all college activities, including in-person and virtual attendance of fairs, seminars, and presentations
Assist with the coordination of the summer internship program and the Investment Fellowship post-graduate program
Foster long-term relationships with past applicants and potential candidates
Collaborate with the Recruitment Marketing Specialist and Talent Acquisition Sourcing Lead on developing content for attracting applicants based on organizational needs and strategic focus
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the design of job descriptions and interview questions that reflect each position-s requirements
Support HR staff with serving open requisitions including following up with search committees, scheduling candidate interviews, completing background checks, and other relevant recruitment activities
Salary Grade
This position is a Grade 18
Salary Range
If hired prior to April 1, 2015: $68,249 to $89,050
If hired after April 1, 2015: $68,249 to $85,234
