Position Summary:
We need someone who is creative, a builder, and passionate about helping the organization attract and retain the best talent in the hospitality industry. The Talent Acquisition Director will successfully design and implement recruiting strategies for Puttshack by identifying top talent to meet the business needs. Reporting to the Head of People & Talent, this leader will be responsible for establishing best-in-class Talent Acquisition processes, driving innovative delivery of the candidate experience, promoting an integrated inclusion and diversity strategy, and executing the recruiting activity with consistency and precision. This is a hybrid role; three days from our Home Office, located in Chicago.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Develop and execute Puttshack's Talent Acquisition strategy, focusing on proactive candidate engagement to cultivate a diverse pipeline of qualified candidates across the business.
- Develop, mentor, and lead high-performing Talent Acquisition teams, providing ongoing feedback and support.
- Manage the sourcing, hiring, and recruiting efforts of the Talent Acquisition team to ensure a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Establish recruiting metrics and analytics that provide insights, guide decision making and measure team productivity and program ROI; measure team performance against maintaining consistent standards for all applicants and ensuring compliance with all local laws and regulations related to hiring and recruiting.
- Own and deliver Talent Acquisition projects that involve stakeholders from across TA, HR, the business, or any number of stakeholders throughout Puttshack, including executive team members.
- Assure the ATS/HRIS process is successfully supporting the recruiting process and providing data/metrics/analytics to help measure team performance. Lead associated technology implementations as needed.
- Collaborate with HR, Learning & Development, and business leaders to ensure smooth onboarding and integration of new hires in leadership roles.
- Elevate Puttshack's employer brand, particularly within the hospitality/social entertainment sector, to attract top talent.
- Develop an active network of sourcing avenues including professional networking, agencies, social networking, university partnerships, and technology to build a robust talent pipeline.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors that support Talent Acquisition efforts; regularly assessing vendor performance to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
- Act as a subject matter expert in talent trends, technologies, best practices, and regional talent availability; research and keep up to date of current recruiting trends and recommend recruiting strategies and activities to attract top talent.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence, team development and an engaging work environment.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned as required by the needs of the business.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, Marketing, Human Resources or related field or equivalent Talent Acquisition/Human Resources experience
- 10+ years of progressive recruiting experience managing both high complexity and high-volume recruiting; experience with multi-site businesses.
- Demonstrated success in refining recruitment processes and implementing strategic initiatives within a high-growth start-up organization, preferably within restaurant/hospitality setting.
- Ability to lead & develop the Talent Acquisition team in achieving recruiting goals in alignment with organizational objectives. Proven effective leadership & management skills.
- An experienced, dynamic, motivated individual who embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion in a workplace where everyone feels valued and inspired.
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment with a reputation for operational excellence, managing high-volume recruitment needs while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Strong understanding of data analytics, reporting and metrics.
- Creative with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience with talent/employer branding, social media, sourcing, strategic partnerships and managing full cycle recruitment.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required (up to 20%).
- This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Leading within Restaurant/Hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience with start-up; PE backed organizations preferred.
- Blend of corporate sourcing/recruiting and employment agency experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; frequent use of telephone/video conferencing and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting, up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
