Job Scope: Responsible for overseeing and leading Human Resources Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Organizational Development to enhance Kenneth Young Center’s ability to attract, develop, and retain high-performing employees. The Director of Talent and Culture reports to the Chief Executive Officer, is directly responsible for leading the Deputy Director of Human Resources and the Talent Acquisition Team, and indirectly responsible for all HR employees. Provides people-related leadership to the executive team and board of directors.

Responsibilities:
Human Resources Operations
- Provides overall leadership and guidance to Human Resources.
- Functions as a strategic advisor to executive and divisional leadership regarding key organizational and management issues, including policy, practice, and procedure, federal and state HR law changes.
- Develop and implement HR budget, assess requested positions, growth plans, and monitor expenditures.
- Oversee project teams in the areas of safety and security, training, policy/practice development, employee satisfaction/events, etc.
- Participate in Leadership, Operations Leadership, Incident Report, and Facilities Committee, etc.
- Implement policies, practice, and protocols in accordance with audits conducted by outside agencies: Joint Commission, DCFS, DOA, DHS, etc.
Talent Acquisition
- Develop comprehensive strategic, full cycle recruiting and retention plans to meet the organization’s growing staffing goals.
- Lead Talent Acquisition Team to expand the talent pipeline by partnering with local organizations and educational institutions.
- Design and implement inclusive recruitment and selection processes and evaluation systems.
- Work with divisional staff to expand and improve the onboarding process and new-hire training so new staff feel welcomed and prepared to excel in their job.
- Assure that KYC’s total rewards program including compensation, rewards, recognition, retirement and benefits plans are competitive and cost-effective to enable organization to meet growth goals.
Organizational Development
- Define, measure, and report key talent-related success metrics to organization and division leadership to guide continuous improvement of KYC’s ability to attract, develop, and retain high-performing staff.
- Cultivate employee relations – coach and counsel leadership, supervisory staff and employees; investigate employee issues.
- Maintain a schedule of coaching and facilitation with divisional leadership to assess individual and team developmental needs and conduct/procure specific trainings to address those needs or assist division staff to conduct/procure necessary trainings.
- Establish regular Employee Experience surveys, review employee Exit Interviews, perform periodic stay interviews and conduct in-depth investigations where needed to inform needed Talent and Culture improvement actions and initiatives.
- Drive employee engagement and employee well-being by leading the implementation of initiatives to create a work environment that supports employees’ physical and mental well-being, recognizes employees for their work, and incentivizes agency loyalty.
- Lead the Employee Engagement Committee.
- Facilitate KYC’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives and enforce policies that prevent discrimination and promote equal opportunities for all employees.
- Work with the organization’s leadership to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the organization
- Improve performance appraisal systems for staff and leadership. Coach supervisors in dealing with performance issues.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Human Resource certification preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least five years of executive HR experience.
- Strong project management skills.
- Non-Profit experience preferred.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience working with others on diversity, equity and inclusion strategies/initiatives preferred.
Schedule/Work Environment
- Exempt, Full-Time, 37.5 hour work week (preferred), will consider 30 hour work week for the right candidate or alternative/compressed work schedule
- Hybrid work schedule with in office and remote work options
