The Idaho Surveying and Rating Bureau, Inc. (ISRB) is seeking a Jr. Systems Administrator/Help Desk team member who is customer focused and detail oriented with strong communication and leadership skills. The Jr. Systems Administrator/Help Desk role exemplifies the ISRB organizational values of customer focus, ethical, reliable, respect, and teamwork.
The Jr. Systems Administrator/Help Desk will need to be a qualified, self-motivated IT professional willing to take on this brand-new position within the ISRB organization. They will work closely with the Secretary-General Manager to recommend and implement processes and procedures necessary to achieve the goals of this role. This position will allow a motivated candidate the opportunity to assess the IT needs of the ISRB and implement changes necessary to prepare our organization for the ever-changing technological landscape of the future.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
· Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); monitor event log warnings and resources.
· Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
· Install and upgrade computer components and software; build, test, and maintain new hardware and virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
· Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
· Provide documentation and technical specifications to Management for planning and implementing new or upgrades to IT infrastructure.
· Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
· Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
· Responsible for capacity, storage, and database performance.
· Regular virtual meetings and occasional travel to collaborate with other IT personnel from independent bureaus.
· Provides regular updates to the Secretary – General Manager.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or related field, or three or more years’ experience in a similar role.
Required Experience
· Experience with or knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, active directories, and virtualization.
· Experience in project management and cloud computing.
· Experience with scripting and automation tools.
· Database, network administration, or system administration experience.
· Experience with SQL, SQL Server, and other database languages.
Additional Desired Qualifications
· System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft or other network related fields are a plus.
· A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
· Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
· Knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
· Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Highly self-motivated, directed and organized with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
· Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
