Title:Systems Administrator
Location: IT Department - FCN Administrative Office
City: Bellingham, WA
Position: Full-time 40 hours, Monday - Friday, non-exempt (hourly)
Compensation: The starting wage scale is $29.37 - $36.72 per hour. Placement within the wage range is determined by the candidate's relevant experience.
Bonus: Employees are eligible annually to participate in discretionary bonus programs, as determined by FCN, which include the Years-of-Service bonus program, the Quality Performance bonus program, and the Performance Recognition bonus program.
Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for installing new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems. This role also performs system backups and recovery; maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains computer hardware and software systems for all company applications and users. Coordinates with outside vendors where assigned. Performs the testing on all software solutions prior to implementation.
- Works on special projects as needed by the company, as directed by the IT Manager.
- Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures related to products supported by the Help desk require change.
- Interfaces with network users to resolve problems and to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Follows department protocol to log problems, recommend resolutions, priority and tracking. Keeps the IT team informed.
- Meets with IT Manager and users to gather system requirements, offers analysis of those requirements and helps formulate a plan to develop the systems and procedures to satisfy the requirements within the IT team framework.
- Supports basic computer training on software fundamentals.
- Works with the super-user groups to help orient new employees as assigned by the corporation and or IT Team.
- Seeks assistance as needed and communicates questions in a timely manner and to appropriate staff (supervisor, colleagues, providers, etc.).
- Adheres to assigned work schedule (attendance and punctuality).
- Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical office practice preferred
- Advanced computer skills - use of computer applications for Health information systems, EMR, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Epic/EMR/PM: Installation, configuration, trouble shooting and maintenance
- Windows Desktop & server experience:
- Troubleshoot OS failures.
- OS and performance tuning.
- Terminal Services Support Remote Desktop Environment.
- Working knowledge of IIS.
- Microsoft SQL Server: Installation and management.
- Citrix Terminal Services and NetScaler: Farm installation and management and application Tuning.
- PC / Hardware Maintenance:
- Support Windows, Linux, MS Office Apps & Mac OS.
- Discern and maintain confidentiality (i.e. HIPAA, proprietary information, disciplinary actions, etc.).
- Customer Service and Personal Skills:
- Able to resolve complex support issues via telephone, face-to-face, and in writing.
- Able to comprehend and communicate information accurately and clearly with patients, all levels of personnel, and other individuals and groups.
- Maintain professional relationship, respect, and good reputation with users.
- Bridge gap between tech-illiterate users and IT staff.

Benefit eligibility is determined based on the full or part-time status of the position. Employees who are ineligible for FCN's PTO/EIB programs accrue Paid Sick Leave per Washington State law.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Computer Science Related Degree (CS, Network Engineering, Specialty Training)
- Network infrastructure knowledge necessary.
- Experience working in a medical environment a plus.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and listen attentively. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Immunization Requirements: All employees at Family Care Network (FCN) are expected to meet and maintain required immunizations as a contingency of employment. The immunization requirements are as follows: Influenza (annually), Tdap (after the age of 19), MMR, Varicella or a verified history of chickenpox disease, Two-step TST or IGRA (within the last 12 months), COVID-19 vaccine completed series and any additional immunizations determined necessary for the protection of staff and patients. Hepatitis B is also required for employees in positions with a high risk of bloodborne pathogen exposure, which includes the following: Providers, RNs, LPNs, MA-Cs, PSRs at all Urgent Care Locations, and all-laboratory staff. The Hepatitis B vaccine is strongly recommended for all other employees. FCN will cover the cost of required immunizations for any FCN employee. All employee immunizations will be administered by FCN staff except for the COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine can be administered at a participating pharmacy or other healthcare location. Note: A medical or religious vaccine exemption/reasonable accommodation will be considered by submitting an FCN Exemption form for review and evaluation by the Chief Medical Officer.
