Responsibilities/Qualifications
What You’ll Do
To give our furry clients the ultimate “spaw day” experience, we need groomers that can:
- Provide grooming services, like brushing, bathing, and conditioning for pets
- Groom and style pets per owners’ instruction and/or according to breed standards
- Follow all company safety policies to keep you and our neighbor’s pets safe
- Develop long-term relationships with neighbors by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that will keep their pet healthy and happy
- Community outreach to attract new neighbors into our store
- Successful completion of safety training certification
- Utilize the instore scheduling tool and assist neighbors in booking appointments
- Perform routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment fun and inviting
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- A High school diploma or GED.
- *** 1-year or more of grooming experience with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer. ****
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have exceptional Customer Service skills
- Ensure that all pets are safe during the grooming process
- Be able to cut to AKC Breed Standards and perform skills, such as carding and hand stripping
- Have a sound understanding of animal behavior
- Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment or pets weighing up to 50 pounds
- Be able to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time
- Candidates must be flexible in working evenings, weekends and holidays
- Candidates must be 18 years or older
