DEA's corporate office in Portland, OR is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our Corporate IS Group. As a Systems Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient operation of our IT infrastructure, focusing on systems administration, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Main responsibilities include:
- Provide day-to-day support, proactive maintenance, and independently troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Maximize system performance, troubleshoot problems, schedule upgrades, and optimize system configurations.
- Design and implement system configurations, installations, and enforce system standards.
- Assist in operational planning, strategic planning, and business continuity/disaster recovery solutions.
- Offer strategic technical direction, contribute to roadmap design, and handle the installation and configuration of all data systems and services.
- Collaborate with project teams on network initiatives, occasionally taking a lead project role.
- Travel to domestic offices and provide on-call support as required.
- Administer LAN/WAN security, antivirus, and anti-spam measures.
- Manage VMWare ESXi, Windows servers, and network infrastructure, covering setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Configure and manage Active Directory, including Active Directory Federation Services.
- Oversee Microsoft Office 365, with a focus on email administration and issue resolution.
- Maintain and administer Azure hosted services.
- Support and maintain Cloud Storage Gateway solutions.
- Provide support for Windows Terminal Server and Citrix.
- Install and maintain LAN/WAN hardware and software, including servers, network infrastructure, and video conferencing systems.
- Evaluate hardware and software requirements, make recommendations, and contribute to the development of network infrastructure and documentation.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years of progressive experience in a systems administration role.
- Ability to travel to other offices (up to 25%, depending on project requirements).
- Proficiency in at least four of the following areas:
- Microsoft Windows Server
- VMware vSphere
- Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon AWS
- Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services and Azure Active Directory
- Citrix and/or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Office 365 (particularly email administration)
- Wireless Network Technologies
- Cloud File Storage Solutions (e.g., Panzura, Nasuni)
- Enterprise Storage Systems (Fiber Channel, iSCSI, EMC, etc.)
- Web Video Conferencing Solutions
- Anti-spam, Anti-malware, and Security
- Disaster Recovery and Backup Solutions
- Network Monitoring Systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry.
